U.S. Military Sends Naval Forces To Mediterranean In Show Of Solidarity With Israel

The U.S. military has initiated the movement of naval assets towards the eastern section of the Mediterranean Sea as a display of support for Israel and to facilitate the potential evacuation of U.S. citizens, if necessary.

According to MSNBC, military officials familiar with the situation have clarified that this action does not indicate any intention for the US to intervene in the conflict. Rather, it is a demonstration of solidarity, and having the assets in closer proximity will streamline the process of evacuating American civilians in the event that the conflict escalates.

While it will take several days to complete the relocation of all the assets to the region, the officials have confirmed that the process can commence immediately. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in an interview with CNN on Sunday, emphasized President Biden's directive to ensure that Israel receives the necessary support to address the attacks from Hamas.

Blinken also acknowledged reports of Americans being killed and kidnapped by Hamas during their assault on Israel, which resulted in 250 fatalities and over 1,000 injuries on Saturday.

"We have reports that several Americans may be among the dead," Blinken informed NBC. "We are very actively working to verify those reports. Similarly, weve seen reports about hostages, and were very actively trying to verify them and confirm the details."
