During a recent speaking event at the University at Albany, conservative commentator Candace Owens faced a question from a leftist attendee who asked what she would say to transgender students who felt victimized by her presence.
Owens, known for her no-nonsense approach, delivered a terse response that resonated with the audience.
"Life's tough. Get a helmet, man. I'm too pregnant for this. Next question," Owens replied, expressing her frustration while the room erupted in cheers, applause, hoots, and hollers.
She continued, "My goodness, ... somebody just give out free hugs. ... I can't be your mommy."
Owens later took to social media to address the incident, sharing on X that she is currently over 8 months pregnant with two toddlers at home. She expressed her disbelief that a 20-year-old adult could feel "actively victimized" by her discussing social and economic conservatism on stage, placing the blame on their parents for failing to prepare them for differing viewpoints. Owens firmly stated that it is not her responsibility to coddle adults.
Further discussing the issue on her Wednesday podcast, Owens criticized the trend of students spending exorbitant amounts of money to attend college only to seek comfort and coddling.
The response to Owens' handling of the Q&A was overwhelmingly positive, with numerous commenters on her YouTube page expressing their support for her straightforward approach.
