Investigation Underway: New Details Emerge In Charlotte Sena Abduction Case

In a recent development, law enforcement authorities have disclosed the possible route that alleged kidnapper, Craig Nelson Ross Jr.

, might have taken after purportedly abducting Charlotte Sena, a 9-year-old girl, from Lake Moreau State Park's campground on Saturday.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is urging residents living along specific roads in the vicinity to reach out to investigators if their home security systems captured any footage between 6:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. on September 30. This appeal comes as part of the ongoing investigation into the kidnapping incident.

A time-lapse video, based on the roads identified by the authorities, provides an estimated trajectory of the suspect's potential path to his mother's property in Ballston Spa.

A multi-agency task force, comprising state, local, and federal authorities, successfully rescued the girl from a camper on Ross's mother's property on Monday evening. This rescue operation came hours after the alleged discovery of the 46-year-old's fingerprints on a ransom note left for the girl's parents.

"Within the camper they located the suspect," stated Hochul during an evening news briefing in Latham. "After some resistance, the suspect was taken into custody, and immediately the little girl was found in a cabinet, covered. She was rescued."

Following the rescue, Charlotte was transported to a hospital where she was reunited with her family, according to Hochul.

Ross is currently facing a first-degree kidnapping charge, which could result in a life sentence. However, additional charges may be levied as the investigation progresses.

Hochul also revealed that a 1999 drunken driving charge enabled the police to locate Ross's fingerprints in a law enforcement database.

"We are thrilled that she is home, and we understand that the outcome is not what every family gets," Charlottes family expressed to Fox News Digital. "A huge thank you to the FBI, the New York State Police, all of the agencies that were mobilized, all of the families, friends, community, neighbors and hundreds of volunteers who supported us and worked tirelessly to bring Charlotte home."

On Tuesday, Charlotte's extended family shared a new photo of the 9-year-old on their GoFundMe campaign. As she recovers from the traumatic incident, her parents have taken leave from work to care for her and her two sisters.
