Unbelievable Miracle: Baby Born Under Rubble Of Devastating Syria Earthquake Survives

Written by Published

There is one tiny miracle out of all the devastation that has occurred in the earthquake situation that has erupted in Turkey and Syria.

This tiny miracle is known as Aya, Arabic for a sign from God. She was born even though her mother died during the earthquake.

According to the Guardian, her parents and all of her siblings were killed, so her great-uncle, Salah al-Badran, will now watch after her. However, even his home was destroyed during the earthquake. He spoke with the Associated Press and said that he and 11 other people are all huddled together living in a tent.

He communicated with the media outlet via voicemail and said: After the earthquake, theres no one able to live in his house or building. Only 10% of the buildings here are safe to live in, and the rest are unliveable.

Rescue workers in Jenderis discovered baby Aya ten hours after the earthquake first hit. Buried under the rubble of a building, the baby was still attached to her mothers umbilical cord. The baby was rushed to the hospital and managed to pull through. Sadly, her mother, Afraa Abu Hadiya, died with her husband and four of their children in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Dr. Hani Maarouf at Cihan hospital in Afrin said it was likely that Hadiya likely gave birth and died just hours before they were discovered. The doctor also stated:

We named her Aya, so we could stop calling her a new-born baby.

This baby is one of an untold number of orphans that came from this earthquake disaster. She managed to pull through and survive, but at least 21,000 people died amid this earthquake. That number is expected to rise dramatically in the coming days, so the situation will only continue to get more tragic.
