Squad Member PULLS Fire Alarm During Heated Shutdown Negotiations

Progressive Representative Jamaal Bowman, a Democrat from New York, caused a commotion in one of the House of Representatives' office buildings Saturday morning as lawmakers raced to prevent a potential government shutdown, according to the House Administration Committee.

The committee's chair, Republican Bryan Steil from Wisconsin, stated that the incident is currently under investigation. Sources informed Fox News and Fox News Digital that Bowman is being questioned by the Capitol Police's criminal investigation unit.

"Representative Jamaal Bowman pulled a fire alarm in Cannon this morning. An investigation is underway to determine the reason behind this action," Steil said in a statement.

Fox News Digital reached out to Bowman's office for comment but did not receive an immediate response.

Sources have reported that the incident was captured on camera, although video footage is not yet available to Fox News Digital.

This incident occurred shortly after House Republicans announced their intention to expedite a stopgap spending bill, also known as a continuing resolution (CR).

Democrats were taken by surprise by this announcement and expressed dissatisfaction with the limited time they were given to thoroughly review the 70-plus-page bill.
