Las Vegas police have made a significant breakthrough in the unsolved murder case of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur.
After 27 years of frustration and public fascination, authorities have arrested Duane "Keffe D" Davis in connection with the deadly 1996 drive-by shooting that claimed Shakur's life.
The arrest of Davis, which took place in the early hours of Friday morning, marks a major development in the investigation. Although the exact charges have not been disclosed, two officials with direct knowledge of the arrest have confirmed the news. They spoke on the condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to release information prior to an expected indictment later today.
Davis has long been on the radar of investigators, and his involvement in the shooting has been a subject of speculation. In his 2019 memoir, "Compton Street Legend," Davis openly admitted to being present in the Cadillac from which the fatal gunfire erupted on that fateful September night in 1996.
The incident, which occurred on the bustling Las Vegas Strip, claimed the life of the 25-year-old Shakur, leaving a void in the music industry that is still felt to this day.
