Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has strong views on President Joe Bidens State of the Union Address.
According to CNS News, Cruz spoke with Sean Hannity on Fox News, saying Bidens speech was divisive, it was angry, it was out of touch, and it was fundamentally dishonest..
Cruz continued, Throughout the speech, Biden would periodically just scream out randomly. He reminded me of a crotchety old guy on his front porch screaming at the kids, get off my lawn.
The Texas senator talked about Bidens references to seniors, lying about how Republicans are Going to throw granny off the cliff. He noted that at least half the Republicans in the room laughed because Bidens words were fundamentally false.
Breitbart reported that Cruz said, We should be strengthening and preserving Social Security and Medicare. But Ill tell you when Biden stood up and said, were going to stand up for seniors, there is no group in America who has been hurt more under Joe Biden than seniors with rampaging inflation, the cost of rent and food and electricity skyrocketing, seniors are getting hammered, and their retirement has dropped 20 or 30%. For him suddenly to claim to be a champion for seniors is profoundly out of touch with the failures of his policies.
According to CNS News, Cruz laid out three of the most dishonest things Biden said in his SOTU address. First, he talked about Biden urging support of his plan to secure the border and stop the influx of fentanyl since Joe Biden made a political decision (to) have open borders; the result is the worst illegal immigration in the history of our country and the worst fentanyl crisis this country has ever faced, with over 100,000 overdoses each year.
The other two dishonest statements from the President, according to Cruz, were related to his saying he is tough on China and his tirade about Republicans wanting to end Medicare and Social Security.
Cruz believes the Democrats may begin to wake up, even as he thinks Biden will be the 2024 Democrat presidential nominee. I think Democrats recognize he is too old, said Cruz, And his policies have failed.
Pointing out that, based on the mid-term elections, Cruz noted that two-thirds of Americans think the country is on the wrong track. He said, Inflations out of control, crimes out of control, the southern borders out of control. He could have acknowledged all that and said were going to change course. He didnt do that. He doubled down on the same failed policies.
