IRS Whistleblower's Handwritten Notes Expose Harsh Truths In Hunter Biden Case

In a significant development, personal handwritten notes of Gary Shapley, a senior supervisory agent for the IRS, were made public by his legal team on Wednesday.

These notes pertain to a pivotal meeting held last October with U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was involved in the investigation of Hunter Biden.

Shapley's notes from the meeting on October 7, 2022, reveal that Weiss confessed he was not the "deciding official on whether charges are filed" against the president's son. This claim has been disputed by senior FBI agent Thomas Sobocinski, who was also present at the meeting. Sobocinski informed House investigators that he does not recall Weiss making such a statement.

Interestingly, unlike Shapley, Sobocinski did not document the meeting in any form. Shapley's notes, however, clearly state, "Weiss stated He is not the deciding person."

The notes also substantiate another crucial allegation: Weiss was unable to press charges in other jurisdictions without external approval. This is despite Attorney General Merrick Garland's assertion that Weiss had the ultimate authority to bring any charges against Hunter in any jurisdiction.

Shapley's notes read, "USA CA [Martin] Estrada in charge of authorizing these charges in that jurisdiction," and "Weiss requested Special Counsel status in D.C. + Main DOJ said 'no' follow the process."

The New York Times independently confirmed that Estrada, a Biden nominee, prevented Weiss from pressing charges against Hunter in the Central District of California. Weiss' decision to drop charges against Hunter in Delaware, intending to refile them in at least one other jurisdiction, further implies that Weiss did not have sole charging authority, as Shapley asserted.

Shapley's handwritten notes are supported by an email he sent to his IRS supervisor after the meeting on October 7, 2022. This email, released by the House Ways and Means Committee, is a transcription of the notes Shapley took during the meeting.

Darrell Waldon, the D.C. IRS Special Agent in Charge and Shapley's supervisor, also attended the October 7 meeting. He confirmed to Shapley that his notes "covered it all."
