In a recent encounter at the Vatican City, Pope Francis shared a light-hearted moment with Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, expressing his fondness for Stallone's films.
The Pope and the actor even engaged in a playful shadowboxing exchange.
Stallone, accompanied by his three daughters, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet, and his brother Frank, had the opportunity to meet the 86-year-old leader of the Catholic Church. "Thank you very much for taking time from your busy day. We appreciate this very much," Stallone expressed his gratitude to the Pope at the Apostolic Palace.
"We grew up with your films," the Pope responded through a translator, to which Stallone humorously replied, "Ready? We box!" The actor then assumed a boxing stance, and the Pope reciprocated with a few short, left-hand punches.
During his visit to Italy, Stallone was granted honorary citizenship by the city of Gioia del Colle. The city, with a population of approximately 28,000, held a ceremony in honor of the actor and his family, as reported by Fox News.
Stallone had previously visited the Vatican City in 2022, where he had the unique opportunity to hold the keys that open every door in the Vatican, including the Sistine Chapel. He shared this experience on Instagram, captioning it as a "very rare and special moment."
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Stallone revealed his protective nature towards his daughters, who are all in their twenties. He warned potential suitors, "I know how these guys think. I happen to have been one. Its nature, but I want to let them know. I say, 'OK, when youre trying to kiss her, it's like you're trying to kiss me at the same time.' I'm very connected to my family, so if you do something that's inappropriate, it's like you did it to me."
"Theres going to be an issue and it's going to be a great deal of pain. I'm incredibly protective over my daughters, because I know it's a dangerous planet," Stallone added, emphasizing his commitment to safeguarding his family.
