According to a recent post on X, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has suggested that states should consider seceding from the United States if President Joe Biden fails to address the issue of drug trafficking by cartels.
In her post, Greene stated, "If the Biden admin refuses to stop the invasion of cartel-led human and drug trafficking into our country, states should consider seceding from the union." She further expressed her concern about the impact of Biden's border policies, stating, "From Texas to New York City to every town in America, we are drowning from Biden's traitorous America last border policies."
Although Greene did not provide specific details on how Biden should address the issue of drug trafficking, she has previously advocated for military strikes inside Mexico to target cartels.
It is worth noting that former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have also expressed similar sentiments.
In February, Greene called for a "national divorce" that would separate states based on their political affiliations. This proposal suggests a division between red and blue states, reflecting the growing political polarization in the country.
The issue of drug trafficking and border security has been a contentious topic in recent years, with differing opinions on how to effectively address the problem.
Greene's suggestion of secession as a potential solution reflects the frustration and concern felt by some individuals regarding the current administration's approach to border policies.
