Jen Psaki, the former White House press secretary, is set to take on a new role as the host of a prime-time show on MSNBC.
The left-wing channel has announced that Psaki's show, "Inside with Jen Psaki," will now air on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, in addition to its current Sunday slot at 12 p.m. ET. The new schedule will begin on September 25th.
According to the show's page on the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, there will also be "new, original episodes" exclusively available on the online streaming service Peacock, airing on Thursdays.
Psaki left her position as White House press secretary in May 2022 and was succeeded by Karine Jean-Pierre, who currently holds the role. Since joining MSNBC in October 2022, Psaki has contributed to the network's election and special coverage programming, providing her expertise in government and the campaign trail to primetime viewers during significant political events and breaking news.
As the 2024 presidential race unfolds, Psaki's role on MSNBC becomes even more significant. According to polls, President Joe Biden is on track to secure the Democratic presidential nomination, maintaining a substantial lead over challengers Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Marianne Williamson. If re-elected, Biden, already the oldest President in history, would be 86 by the end of a second term.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has been dominating the polls among other potential Republican presidential candidates. This suggests that the 2024 election may shape up to be a rematch between Biden and Trump.
Psaki's new role on MSNBC will provide viewers with insightful analysis and commentary as the 2024 presidential race continues to unfold. Her expertise in government and her experience on the campaign trail will undoubtedly contribute to the network's coverage of major political events and breaking news.
