Well, Here We Go! Joy Behar Makes A BIG Announcement, Noting Whoopi's Absence

The View's co-host Whoopi Goldberg was conspicuously absent from the show's Tuesday episode, with her colleagues disclosing that she had contracted the COVID-19 virus.

This revelation led Joy Behar, another co-host, to assert that the virus was making a comeback.

Behar initiated the discussion by stating, "As you can see, Whoopi is not here. She has Covid." Her announcement was met with audible concern from the audience, to which she responded, "Yes! It's back!" However, she reassured the audience that Goldberg was recuperating and was expected to rejoin the show later in the week.

The resurgence of the virus, which many had assumed was a thing of the past, has reignited public debate in recent days. The same discussions that were put on hold months ago are now resurfacing.

Dr. Anthony Fauci expressed his apprehension on Monday about the possibility of Americans disregarding new mask guidelines if the CDC were to reintroduce pandemic-era advisories. "I would hope that if in fact we get to the point where the volume of cases is such that organizations like the CDC ... recommends that people wear masks, I would hope that they abide by the recommendation and take into account the risk to themselves and to their families," he stated, emphasizing that he was not advocating for any form of coercion.

In the same conversation, Dr. Fauci conceded that while masks could provide individual protection, their effectiveness in curbing a pandemic on a larger scale was "less strong."

The Biden administration recently announced the availability of a new batch of Covid-19 vaccines for the public. This has prompted various reactions, including a call from former President Donald Trump for manufacturers to disclose data pertaining to the safety of their vaccines.

"They have to be honest with the numbers," Trump insisted. "They have an obligation to be honest and if they are going to hold back, that means they're holding back something that's not good. So it's good for them to be honest and people are going to understand that they have to be honest and any information they have to release it."
