Five individuals were shot and wounded on Sunday morning during a domestic altercation at a residence in Atlanta, according to police.

Deputy Chief Charles Hampton informed reporters that among the victims were a 3-year-old child and a 15-year-old teenager.

All five individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital and are currently in stable condition, Hampton confirmed.

The suspected gunman, an 18-year-old, was discovered dead at the scene, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Hampton stated. "There was some type of ongoing dispute domestic in nature inside the home this morning that escalated to the gunfire where the suspect shot all five victims and then shot himself," Hampton explained to reporters.

The relationship between the suspected gunman and the victims has not been disclosed by Hampton. He did, however, mention that there were two other children present in the residence who were unharmed.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum highlighted that this incident is the most recent in a series of shootings that occurred during domestic disputes over the weekend. One of the shootings involved two family members engaged in a dispute over unpaid rent, while another involved an argument between two roommates, Schierbaum revealed. "This is domestic violence where individuals use a gun to resolve a dispute," Schierbaum emphasized.
