Rapper SLAMMED By Conservatives For Blocking Vivek Ramaswamy Campaign's Use Of His Music

Eminem, the Detroit-born rapper, has come under fire from conservatives on social media following reports that his representatives have issued a cease and desist letter to presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, instructing him to refrain from publicly performing his music.

The letter, dispatched by music publisher BMI to the legal counsel of the Ramaswamy campaign, stated, "BMI has received a communication from Marshall B. Mathers, III, professionally known as Eminem, objecting to the Vivek Ramaswamy campaigns use of Eminems musical compositions."

The letter, initially reported by the Daily Mail, further warned that any future use of Eminem's music by the Vivek 2024 campaign would be considered "a material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies with respect thereto."

Eminem, who publicly supported President Biden in the 2020 election, was swiftly criticized by conservatives on social media. They ridiculed the Michigan-based multi-millionaire recording artist for his opposition to Ramaswamy's use of his music during campaign events.

Mike Cernovich, an author and political commentator, tweeted, "Lmao what a gigantic baby."

Some conservatives highlighted the irony of Eminem's stance, given his previous anti-war sentiments, which align with Ramaswamy's political views. Greg Price, the Communications Director for the State Freedom Caucus Network, posted, "Right before the 2004 election, Eminem released an anti-Bush song called Mosh," and quoted a lyric from the song. He added, "Now he's angry that the most anti-war candidate in the GOP primary sang his song at an event."

Ramaswamy responded to Eminem's letter on social media, posting, "Will The REAL Slim Shady Please Stand Up? He didnt just say what I think he did, did he?"

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the Ramaswamy campaign, told Fox News Digital, "Vivek just got on the stage and cut loose," adding, "To the American peoples chagrin, we will have to leave the rapping to the real slim shady."
