President Biden, on Monday, addressed middle school students at Eliot-Hine Middle School on Capitol Hill, empathizing with the challenges they face in returning to school after a long break.

"The hardest thing, I think, is when you come back after three months of not doing any work, not doing any homework, and all of a sudden you got a lot to make everybody has a lot to catch up from the end of last year, the President said.

His remarks were met with a mixed response from the students. While one teenager was thrilled to meet the President, exclaiming, Im going to be famous! another student seemed less impressed, appearing to doze off during Biden's speech. The President, displaying his affable nature, gently woke the student and shared a few words with them.

These comments from the President come after he faced criticism from Republicans for his extensive vacation time over the past month. Biden recently returned from a week-long stay at the Lake Tahoe mansion of billionaire Tom Steyer. This vacation followed a series of restful stays at his homes in Delaware. From July 28 through August 7, he resided at his Rehoboth Beach house and Wilmington residence, before returning to Rehoboth from August 11-14.

In addition to his Lake Tahoe trip, Biden also took a day trip on August 21 to survey the wildfire damage on Maui. Despite the criticism, the President is scheduled for another break this coming Friday, planning to spend the long Labor Day weekend at the shore.

At 80 years old, President Biden's vacation time has become a point of contention among his critics. However, his interaction with the students at Eliot-Hine Middle School served as a reminder of his approachable demeanor and his understanding of the challenges faced by the younger generation as they navigate their return to school after a lengthy hiatus.
