An Indiana man has been apprehended by police for driving under the influence (DUI) while operating a children's Power Wheels toy vehicle.
The incident occurred in Vincennes, Indiana, when James McKee, 51, was stopped by an officer from the Indiana State Police. McKee was reportedly driving the Power Wheels Jeep without any lights or reflectors on the roadway at approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
The state trooper decided to pull over the toy vehicle after observing McKee driving erratically and displaying signs of impairment. Upon conducting field sobriety tests, McKee allegedly failed to meet the required standards, leading to his subsequent arrest.
According to WAVE, a television station based in Louisville, Kentucky, the Indiana State Police stated that McKee was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Following medical evaluation, it was determined that he was under the influence of methamphetamine and marijuana.
As a result of his actions, McKee now faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, which is classified as a level 6 felony. He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Knox County Jail.
