Democratic Representative Cori Bush of Missouri has released a scathing critique of the first Republican presidential primary debate for the 2024 election cycle.

In her list of "Winners," Bush did not include any candidates but instead claimed that "Fascism," "Hatred," "Bigotry," "Racism," "Ignorance," and "Corruption" prevailed at the event. According to Bush, "Every candidate made clear last night that the GOP is a threat to democracy as a whole."

The debate, which took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, featured eight Republican presidential hopefuls. However, former President Donald Trump, who is currently leading the GOP nominating contest, chose to skip the event. Just before the debate, popular conservative media figure Tucker Carlson released an interview with Trump, further solidifying his frontrunner status.

Despite some GOP candidates expressing support for eliminating the Department of Education, Bush has emphasized the importance of the government department. She stated, "The Department of Education is important. Teachers are important. Teachers unions are important. We will not allow these out-of-touch, extremist Republicans to come after our children's education."

Looking ahead, the second GOP primary debate is scheduled for next month. However, Trump has indicated that he plans to skip all of the primary debates. In a recent post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, "The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!"

As the 2024 election cycle unfolds, the absence of Trump from the debates raises questions about the dynamics and impact of the GOP primary race.

With his commanding lead in the polls, Trump seems poised to secure the nomination without the traditional platform of the primary debates. The Republican Party now faces the challenge of navigating a path forward without its most prominent figure actively participating in the primary process.
