Jim Jordan DEMANDS Clarity On Suspected Collaboration Between Georgia DA Fani Willis And Biden's DOJ

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan has written a letter to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, calling for transparency regarding alleged coordination with the Biden administration's Department of Justice (DOJ) in the decision to indict former President Donald Trump.

Jordan raises concerns about the timing and motivation behind indicting a former President and top Republican candidate just months before a federal election.

In the letter, Jordan questions whether the indictment and prosecution are politically motivated, stating, "Your indictment and prosecution implicate substantial federal interests, and the circumstances surrounding your actions raise serious concerns about whether they are politically motivated."

He highlights the fact that Willis launched a campaign fundraising website just days before the indictment, focusing on her investigation into Trump. Additionally, Jordan notes that Willis was barred from targeting Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones due to her fundraising events for his opponent.

The congressman also points out the timing of the indictment, which is set to begin on the day before "Super Tuesday," leading to speculation that it may be an attempt to interfere with the 2024 presidential election. Jordan states, "It is unsurprising many have speculated that this indictment and prosecution are designed to interfere with the 2024 presidential election."

Jordan argues that the indictment and prosecution implicate significant federal interests, suggesting that it is an attempt to regulate the conduct of federal officers through state criminal law. He warns that this raises concerns under the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution and poses a threat to the operations of the federal government. Jordan expresses concern that the threat of future state prosecution for official acts may discourage federal officers from effectively performing their duties and responsibilities.

Furthermore, Jordan questions whether Willis coordinated with the Biden administration's DOJ and Special Counsel Jack Smith during the investigation. He indicates that the Committee may further investigate this matter. Jordan requests that Willis provide all documents and communications related to the receipt and use of federal funds by the Fulton County DA's office, as well as any correspondence between the office and members of the DOJ or the Executive Branch.
