Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy took to social media on Thursday to share what he referred to as "10 truths."
These truths, according to Ramaswamy, encompassed various topics including faith, gender, and capitalism.
Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur vying for the Republican nomination, shared his list of ideals on X. The list began with the statements "God is real" and "There are only two genders," the latter of which has been a contentious claim among those on the Left.
The list also emphasized the importance of fossil fuels, condemned what Ramaswamy referred to as "reverse racism," defended the role of parents in choosing their children's education, and hailed the U.S. Constitution as the "strongest guarantor of freedoms in history."
While many voters may have been unfamiliar with Ramaswamy at the start of the 2024 presidential campaign, recent polls have placed the rising Silicon Valley star in the top three among GOP candidates, trailing only former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Ramaswamy began his social media post on X with the word "TRUTH" in all-caps, followed by his list:
1. God is real.
2. There are two genders.
3. Human flourishing requires fossil fuels.
4. Reverse racism is racism.
5. An open border is no border.
6. Parents determine the education of their children.
7. The nuclear family is the greatest form of governance known to mankind.
8. Capitalism lifts people up from poverty.
9. There are three branches of the U.S. government, not four.
10. The U.S. Constitution is the strongest guarantor of freedoms in history.
Ramaswamy has been showcasing his list at campaign stops in early voting states in recent weeks. He shared the list ahead of an event in California and as he continues his barnstorming tour across several states before the first Republican primary debate in Wisconsin next week, which will be hosted by Fox News.
During an event at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda, Ramaswamy discussed his upbringing and expressed concern that the American Dream may not be attainable for future generations.
"My parents came to this country 40 years ago with no money, and in a single generation, I have gone on to found multi-billion dollar companies while raising a family. That is the American dream, and I am deeply worried that it will not exist for my two sons and their generation," Ramaswamy said.
Ramaswamy also spoke about what he sees as a national identity crisis, where traditional ideals such as faith, patriotism, hard work, and family have been replaced by what he referred to as "new secular religions" in American life, including wokeism, transgenderism, climate-ism, chauvinism, globalism, depression, anxiety, fentanyl, and suicide. He believes these are symptoms of a deeper void of purpose and meaning in the country.
The 38-year-old candidate also expressed that he and other millennials are "hungry for a cause" and that there is a moral vacuum in the country that needs to be filled with a vision of what it means to be an American today.
Ramaswamy will join his fellow 2024 Republican contenders for a debate at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on August 23, 2023. The debate will be moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum of Fox News.
