Historian Victor Davis Hanson has recently voiced his concerns regarding the current state of affairs under President Joe Biden's administration.
In an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Hanson suggested that Biden is engaged in "a race against the truth," despite the numerous indictments directed at former President Donald Trump.
Trump, who pleaded not guilty to all charges during his arraignment on August 3, was indicted on four counts relating to his attempts to challenge the 2020 election results. This indictment was secured by special counsel Jack Smith, who had previously obtained a 37-count indictment against Trump in June, following an investigation into allegations surrounding classified documents.
Hanson criticized Biden's silence on pressing issues, stating, "He is on the beach while a whole beach city has been wiped out and he cant even make one remark about it." He further suggested that Biden is likely to retire and allow the Obama, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren wing to continue running the country. He also predicted that Biden would ignore the impending indictments, focusing instead on Trump.
Hanson expressed his skepticism about the indictments against Trump, stating, "Some of these indictments are so ridiculous, in fact, a majority of them, that they are building a huge pushback and Biden is declining." He added that the situation has become so blatant that it may not be sustainable for the next 17 months.
In a tragic incident, a wildfire in Maui's Lahaina town resulted in the loss of numerous buildings and claimed at least 96 lives. However, Biden refrained from commenting on the disaster, even as the death toll continued to rise.
Hanson also pointed out the unique nature of the charges Biden is facing, stating, "Finally, unlike the Trump impeachments or the Clinton impeachments or the potential Nixon impeachment, Joe Biden is facing charges that are in the Constitution of bribery." He suggested that if it can be proven that Biden engaged in a quid pro quo with a foreign government while his family received money, it could be considered almost treasonous.
