Former President Donald Trump is making promises about what he will do if he is elected again in 2024.
JustTheNews reports that Trump is promising to ban all Chinese investments in American infrastructure on any projects while he remains in the White House.
He released a policy video stating that the United States "should begin the process of forcing the Chinese to sell any current holdings that put our national security at risk."
Trump said the following in the policy video:
"China does not allow American companies to take over their critical infrastructure and America should not allow China to take over our critical infrastructure. To protect our country, we need to enact aggressive new restrictions on Chinese ownership of any vital infrastructure in the United States, including energy, technology, telecommunications, farmland, natural resources, medical supplies and other strategic national assets."
He also took a shot at the Biden Administration's policies toward China. He said:
"With the help of corrupt influence-peddlers like the Biden crime family, China is even trying to buy up the pillars of the US energy industry."
There are a lot of concerns among Republican lawmakers that the Chinese might have an in with the White House that they are leveraging to get critical information about our country's infrastructure and even to obtain classified and secretive information about what the country does and does not do. The GOP-led House Oversight Committee also wrote a letter on the same day that questions the amount of influence China might have regarding donations from the communist country to the Penn Biden Center. This is where lawyers for President Biden recently found classified documents.
Trump said the following in his video:
"Frankly, Biden and the group don't care about real energy, they only care about nonsense energy, energy that doesn't work and never will."
Trump has been frank about the dangers that the Chinese government poses. He has taken a hard stance against the communist nation for years, and most believe his position against the Chinese government is much stronger than Biden's or any other President's.
The campaign video states that Trump "will implement a 4-year national re-shoring plan so that the United States no longer needs to rely on China for essential medical and national security goods." There are no specific outlines about exactly how that will happen, but the video is clear about taking a firmer stance against China.
