The Saga Continues: Bryan Kohberger Provides His "Alibi" To Court (Video)

The man accused of murdering four University of Idaho students in November 2022 presented an alibi to the court on Wednesday, according to court documents.

Bryan Kohberger, the accused, was asked to provide an alibi for the night the four college students were killed. According to CBS News, Kohberger's lawyers objected to the state's request for an alibi but did acknowledge that their client had a habit of going for drives alone. They stated that on the night and morning of the murders, Kohberger had gone for a drive, but could not specify his exact whereabouts.

"Mr. Kohberger is not claiming to be at a specific location at a specific time; at this time there is not a specific witness to say precisely where Mr. Kohberger was at each moment of the hours between late night November 12, 2022, and early morning November 13, 2022," the court filing said, as reported by CBS News.

Kohberger's attorneys argued that corroborating evidence placing him away from the crime scene would be obtained through cross-examination of witnesses. A not guilty plea was entered on Kohberger's behalf during a May 22 arraignment hearing after he chose to remain silent. In June 2023, court documents revealed that law enforcement officials had matched Kohberger's DNA to that found at the crime scene.

Kohberger has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder, and his trial is scheduled to begin in October.
