An 18-year-old girl has come forward with disturbing allegations of being held against her will, chained to a bed, and subjected to weeks of rape.
The victim managed to escape and seek help from neighbors in a north Houston neighborhood, according to Houston police.
The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office responded to the call on Sunday and, following an investigation, arrested two individuals. The girl had reportedly met 30-year-old Jose Reyes, who enticed her to go to the residence, said Constable Mark Herman during a media briefing on Monday.
"It seems as though the male suspect was able to gain her confidence, met her somewhere and basically got her to go back willingly," Herman stated.
Upon entering the home, the victim was allegedly held against her will and chained to a bed by Reyes and a woman identified as 29-year-old Jacueline Macias. Over the course of approximately a month, she endured repeated rape and assault, Herman revealed.
During a brief absence of Macias and Reyes from the house, the victim managed to escape her restraints and seek help by climbing through a window, according to investigators.
"She was in disarray, confused, as anyone would be, and wanted help," Herman explained.
Police discovered marks on the victim's body consistent with the restraints she described. She was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
Macias and Reyes have been charged with kidnapping, but authorities anticipate additional charges as the investigation progresses.
