Climate change activists have vandalized a $300 million superyacht owned by billionaire Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie on the Spanish island of Ibiza.

The group, known as Futuro Vegetal, used fire extinguishers filled with red and black paint to deface the yacht, named "Kaos." Pictures uploaded by Futuro Vegetal on Twitter show two members standing in front of the luxury yacht holding signs that read "You Consume Others Suffer."

In a statement, the group expressed their motivation for the vandalism, stating, "The only reason we continue to maintain an economic system that leads us to eco-social collapse is to sustain the privileges of this small privileged class. The mega-rich live off the suffering of others."

Two individuals were arrested by the Spanish Civil Guard at the docks in connection with the incident. According to local reports, the yacht was scheduled to leave Ibiza on Sunday, and the spray painting occurred just as the crew was preparing to depart. Futuro Vegetal specifically targeted Laurie's yacht due to her status as one of the wealthiest women in the world, with a net worth of $7.77 billion according to Bloomberg's Billionaire Index.

Laurie's superyacht, which measures 361 feet, has garnered attention in the media for its impressive features, including a swimming pool, aquarium, helipad, cinema, spa facilities, gym, and a small hospital for medical emergencies at sea.

The vandalism follows a call from the activist organization Extinction Rebellion Ibiza, which is demanding a ban on private jets and luxury yachts due to emission concerns. The group has been campaigning to target such jets and yachts in Ibiza, with a private jet being spray painted in a similar fashion by activists at the island's airport last week.

Futuro Vegetal expressed pride in joining the campaign in Ibiza to raise awareness for their cause. The group describes itself as a civil disobedience and direct action group fighting against climate change.
