Actor Billy Baldwin has made a shocking revelation about his connection to the suspect charged in the unsolved Gilgo Beach murders on Long Island.

In a candid post on his social media, the 60-year-old actor disclosed that the suspect, Rex Heuermann, was his high school classmate at Berner High School in Massapequa, New York. Both men graduated from the class of 1981.

Baldwin expressed his disbelief, stating, "Shocked to learn this morning that the Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect was my high school classmate Rex Heuermann." He added, "Mind-boggling. Massapequa is in shock."

In his post, Baldwin also made a reference to the popular genetic testing service, 23andMe, saying, "23andMe strikes again." When asked to elaborate on this connection to the case, Baldwin explained that when people publicly share their 23andMe DNA results, it can often help resolve cold case crimes or paternity issues by linking someone's child or relative to a suspect through their genetic information.

The police were able to make a breakthrough in the Gilgo Beach murder case by matching DNA from a pizza that Heuermann had eaten to genetic material found on a woman's remains. This led to his arrest on Thursday. On Friday, Heuermann was charged with murder in connection to the deaths of three of the 11 victims in the unsolved cases from over a decade ago. However, the police have previously stated that it is unlikely that one person was responsible for all the deaths.

Heuermann, a Long Island architect who is married with two children, has been living for decades near the area where the remains were discovered in 2010 and 2011.

The Baldwin brothers, including Alec, Daniel, Billy, and Stephen, all grew up in the Long Island community and attended the same high school as the
