Major Retailer Gives Bud Light This 'Mark Of Death' Indicating They Won't Stock It Anymore (Photos)

Costco, one of the world's largest retailers, may soon cease selling Bud Light, according to a report by Newsweek.

Social media users have discovered that the beer company has received Costco's "star of death," a small asterisk on price tags indicating that a product will not be restocked once it is sold out.

One Twitter user shared an image showing Bud Light being sold at a discounted price of $14.97 for a 2 x 12 pack, suggesting that Costco was practically giving away the beer.

These images were taken at various Costco stores across the country, although the exact locations remain undisclosed.

This potential blow to Bud Light comes at a time when the company is already facing embarrassing sales figures. According to NelsonIQ data, Bud Light sales plummeted by 28% over a four-week period ending on July 1, with the number of units sold down by over 31% compared to the same period last year.

Adding to Bud Light's woes, a recent survey revealed that the beer has dropped to 14th place in terms of popularity among the public.

This decline in popularity not only affects the company but also puts the livelihoods of the 65,000 people whose jobs are linked to Anheuser-Busch's success at risk.

Costco, as the fifth largest retailer globally, holds significant influence. Should they decide to completely stop selling Bud Light, the consequences for the beer company could be dire.
