Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expressed her support for President Biden in a recent interview, while also acknowledging areas where she believes he could have performed better.

During her appearance on the political podcast "Pod Save America," Ocasio-Cortez was asked for her honest assessment of the Biden presidency.

She commended the president, stating, "I think hes done quite well, given the limitations that we have." However, she also recognized that there are ups and downs in any administration.

Ocasio-Cortez specifically highlighted the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act as strong achievements in terms of addressing the climate agenda.

However, she expressed concerns about the Democratic Party's approach to immigration, stating, "The president and I think the Democratic Party in general continues to struggle with immigration. We don't want to own this issue."

She further elaborated on the challenges surrounding immigration, particularly in relation to granting work authorization to asylees during their legal processing. Ocasio-Cortez noted that there is significant political resistance to this idea.

While Ocasio-Cortez had previously shown tepid support for Biden, having endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders during the Democratic Party's primary, she now confirms that she would back Biden in a potential 2024 Democratic primary.

When asked if she would support Biden for re-election, she responded, "I believe, given that field, yes."

Ocasio-Cortez's endorsement of Biden comes with the understanding that he is currently the only viable candidate in the Democratic Party.

She mentioned that there have been no rumors or indications of other potential contenders.
