House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, has criticized President Biden for his stance on family values and criminal justice reform.
Comer, whose panel is currently investigating alleged influence peddling by the Biden family, appeared on Fox News' "Jesse Watters Primetime" to express his concerns.
Comer highlighted the irony of the Biden administration's plan to allocate billions of dollars to the IRS, potentially resulting in the hiring of up to 87,000 IRS agents.
He argued that this move is contradictory given the legal troubles of the president's son, Hunter Biden.
Comer also pointed out the inconsistency between Biden's push for gun control and Hunter Biden's guilty plea in a federal investigation related to illegal possession of firearms.
According to Comer, it is hypocritical for Joe Biden to speak about family values and criminal justice reform when his own son has pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges and illegal possession of firearms.
Comer criticized the leadership displayed by the president and expressed hope that the American people would recognize the need for fresh leadership in the upcoming presidential election.
Comer further questioned Biden's support for a continuing war in Ukraine, particularly in light of comments made by the president during a 2018 event with the Council on Foreign Relations.
Biden had recounted how he threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees if a prosecutor investigating the Burisma energy firm, where Hunter Biden served on the board, was not fired.
Comer argued that Biden's actions in Ukraine raise concerns about his potential conflicts of interest.
The congressman expressed his support for Ukraine against Russia but emphasized the need for greater oversight and scrutiny of the financial aid provided to the country.
Comer suggested that Biden's involvement with Ukraine is as compromising as his ties to China.
Comer also raised questions about Biden's involvement in the Burisma deal and speculated whether the president is "scared" because he has yet to provide a satisfactory explanation.
He mentioned ongoing investigations and the discovery of new evidence, such as an IRS Form 1023 that alleges Biden accepted a bribe related to the Burisma matter.
While Comer's investigation primarily focuses on Hunter Biden, he believes that the president is the "real bad guy" in this situation.
He referred to messages obtained by The Sun and other outlets that cast doubt on the Biden family's image of strong family values. One message reportedly sent by Hunter to his sister-in-law referred to Jill Biden as an "entitled c---."
President Biden has also faced criticism from conservatives regarding his grandchildren. A recent report revealed that his aides have been instructed to publicly state that he only has six grandchildren, omitting Hunter Biden's 4-year-old estranged daughter.
Hunter recently settled a child support case in Arkansas, bringing an end to a lengthy paternity dispute. However, both the president and the first lady have refused to acknowledge the child as their seventh grandchild.
Comer also referenced a text message from Hunter Biden's computer, which was left at a Wilmington repair shop. The message indicated that Hunter was using up to half of his salary to cover his father's expenses, according to one missive to his daughter Naomi.
As the investigation into the Biden family continues, Comer remains committed to uncovering the truth and shedding light on any potential wrongdoing.
He believes that the evidence being uncovered raises serious questions about the president's leadership and the values he espouses.
