A Drag March in East Manhattans Village fuels arguments everywhere as people are horrified by what happened.
After viewing the video clip of the march, the scene of topless women chanting that they are coming for our children will forever etch in your mind.
Many viewers are disgusted or scared by the comments. Those who value innocence are furious. NBC News, however, stands behind the chanting. According to the Post Millennial, Were here, were queer, were coming for your children, they sang to each other.
NBC says that the chant was just for fun. According to them, this is just a way for people in the community to own the horrible things they hear others say against them. NBC further defended the chant by saying that people were saying, Were not going shopping at the end, and only one person said the line quoted above.
Brian Griffin is the person that organized the march. He stands behind everything the marchers shout, including the Coming for your children, chants. Griffin says that the chants were a way to fulfill stereotypes and own them. NBC says that the chants are a normal part of a march. Per The Post Millennial, NBC attested thatThe'coming for your children chant has been used for years at Pride events, according to longtime march attendees and gay rights activists, who said its one of many provocative expressions used to regain control of slurs against LGBTQ people.
However, everyone isnt buying the line that NBC is trying to sell. Libs of TikTok says, Its [totally] fine that they chanted were coming for your children because they do it every year, and they also chant about sex toys and pubic hair and killing people. Its all just words, say the people who force preferred pronouns on us and constantly change our language.
However, conservatives have a more straightforward approach to explaining what is happening. According to The Post Millennial, its to listen when people tell you who they are.
