The White House fired back at The Chicks singer Natalie Maines after the band waved "F*** Trump" fans on stage to celebrate Democrats' midterm wins, according to the Daily Mail.
Maines and her bandmates unfurled red fans with the profane message during a concert at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on election night. The show came as Democrats won control of both the House and the Senate.
"Hello, Los Angeles. Welcome to our bluenami night. So glad we could enjoy this night together," Maines, 51, told the crowd. "Texas is blue, the Senate is blue, the house is blue. This was gonna be a very different night if that wasn't the case."
White House spokesman Davis Ingle responded in a statement to the Daily Mail. "Natalie Maines is a despicable nobody who clearly suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted her peanut-sized brain," Ingle said.
The Daily Mail said representatives for The Chicks did not respond to a request for comment. The Grammy-winning trio, made up of Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer, was wrapping up its Taking the Long Way 20th Anniversary Tour.
Maines has feuded with Trump for years. In May, she posted a viral Instagram rant calling the president a "fugly slut" and warning that "our democracy is disappearing right before our eyes."
The band's clashes with Republican presidents go back to 2003. That year Maines told a London audience the group was ashamed that President George W. Bush was from Texas, as the Iraq invasion loomed, and country radio stations pulled their music.
