'BLOOD On Her HANDS' Vandals Hit Susan Collins' Maine Office With Red Paint Hours Before Polls Opened

Sen. Susan Collins' office in Biddeford, Maine, was vandalized Monday night for the second time this fall, with red paint and the words "BLOOD on her HANDS" left outside on the eve of Election Day, according to Fox News.

Vandals dumped a bucket of red paint in front of the office and wrote the message in red on the sidewalk outside the building. Some of the paint appeared to have splattered onto the office's front doors, WMTW reported, citing photos released by the Collins campaign.

Biddeford police said they received a call reporting the vandalism at the Main Street office shortly before 11 o'clock Monday night. The campaign said no one got into the building.

"This is another incident in a series and the second attempt at our Biddeford office to intimidate the Senator and her staff," Collins' chief of staff Katie Brown told Fox News' Alexis McAdams, calling the tactics "disturbing, but not effective." She added, "Our staff is undeterred and on the job."

In late September, the epithet "Trump whore" was spray-painted in red on the office door. Collins later said in a radio interview that her home in Bangor had been egged about a week before that incident, WMTW reported.

The Biddeford office is near the scene of a July officer-involved shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, in which 26-year-old Colombian national Johan Sebastin Guerrero was killed. Days after that shooting, protesters pushed through the office's front door, chanting "vote her out."

Collins' Democratic challenger, former state Sen. Troy Jackson, condemned the vandalism in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying, "Vandalism and intimidation are wrong, full stop." He added, "There's no place for this in Maine."

Jackson also condemned the September incident. "Senator Collins and her staff should be able to do their jobs without anyone defacing their office, and I condemn whoever did this," he said.

Collins is seeking a sixth term in the Senate against Jackson. Biddeford police are investigating, and no arrests have been reported.
