Havana Syndrome Has Hit WashingtonSix New Cases At Walter Reed, And Victims Dogs Sensed It First

At least six new suspected cases of Havana syndrome are reportedly being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, raising fresh alarms that mysterious neurological incidents long associated with overseas deployments may now be occurring in the nations capital.

The patients are receiving care for confirmed or suspected brain injuries at the premier military hospital, prompting renewed concern about possible directed-energy attacks on American soil, according to the Daily Caller. These cases follow earlier reports of suspected incidents involving U.S. government personnel in the Washington, D.C., area, though investigators have not publicly determined a cause or identified any responsible actor.

The cluster of cases comes amid a broader resurgence of debate over Havana syndrome and the federal governments transparency on the issue. Walter Reed National Military Medical Center did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundations request for comment.

Historically, Havana syndrome has primarily affected diplomats and intelligence officers serving abroad, often in adversarial environments. Symptoms include tinnitus, blurred vision, dizziness, and vertigo and they usually follow a loud noise and intense pain in the ears and head, per the Government Accountability Office.

In this instance, however, the suspected victims are government employees based in Washington, D.C., including senior figures in the defense community. Some of those affected were involved in direct-energy technology research, investigative journalist Catherine Herridge reported on NewsNation.

Prior to the onset of symptoms, many victims reported suspicious vehicles operating nearby, followed by a sudden shock or disorientation. Others claimed their pets appeared to sense danger moments before they themselves realized something was wrong.

Ive had people tell me that theyve been walking their dogs and the first instant they realize that something is happening is that the dog reacts, Herridge said. I anticipate that we probably will be learning more before the end of the year about ultimately the government findings.

The U.S. is investigating whether a foreign entity is involved, NewsNation reports, a question that carries profound implications for national security and the safety of Americans serving their country at home.
