Leaked Audio From A Utah Anti-ICE Meeting Starts With A Gripe About Capitalism - Where It Goes Next Is Chilling

Members of a radical Utah organization calling itself People of Provo Against ICE (POPAI) were captured on tape casually fantasizing about murdering conservatives, wealthy Americans, and even their children during an October meeting, underscoring the increasingly violent rhetoric tolerated on the far left.

According to The Post Millennial, the audio was first released by The Cougar Chronicle, a conservative student-run outlet at Brigham Young University that operates independently of the institution. The recording came from a POPAI gathering in early October, where a routine complaint about capitalism quickly escalated into open talk of mass killing.

You just cant get away from capitalism, one participant remarked during the discussion. Unless we kill everybody, a female member replied, turning a political gripe into a chilling endorsement of violence.

The conversation then shifted to targeting the so-called one percent, with one man estimating there were roughly 500 people they need to kill. The same female participant escalated the rhetoric further, adding, you also have to kill their children.

We need to do that for all the evil people, she continued, framing the murder of political opponents and their families as a moral imperative. Another man then broadened the target list to elected officials and wealthy Americans, declaring that Those f*ckers gotta go.

He went on to outline a vision in which ordinary conservatives, including supporters of President Donald Trump, would be subjected to ideological coercion. In his words, MAGA supporters would require re-education for the possibility of reintegration into society, language that echoes the worst excesses of authoritarian regimes.

The recording builds on earlier reporting by The Cougar Chronicle about POPAIs violent rhetoric and fixation on President Trump. In August, the outlet revealed that members had praised USPS postage stamps defaced with the phrases kill Trump and shoot Trump, calling the altered stamps "sick af" and "cool."

The communist group, which organizes anti-ICE protests in Utah and claims to be "working to stop ICE activity in Provo through any legal means," has also attracted scrutiny because David Chappell, the Democratic nominee for Utah House District 62, is a verified member who has regularly attended its meetings and demonstrations. These revelations land in a state already on edge, after Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated last year at Utah Valley University; alleged shooter Tyler Robinson is currently awaiting trial in connection with Kirks killing, raising serious questions about how much longer political violence and eliminationist rhetoric on the left will be ignored by Democratic leaders and the broader media.
