Katie Zacharia is stepping into the role of White House press secretary, with her first formal briefing scheduled for Tuesday morning, following President Donald Trumps announcement of her appointment on Columbus Day.

According to One America News, President Trump confirmed that Zacharia would officially assume the position on Monday, after Karoline Leavitt left the post at the end of August. I am pleased to announce that Katie Zacharia will be beginning her term as Press Secretary tomorrow, Columbus Day, and will be doing an introductory News Conference on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. from the Press Briefing Room in the White House, Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday.

The President emphasized his long-standing confidence in Zacharia, underscoring her loyalty and alignment with his agenda. Katie has been with me, in spirit, from the very beginning, and will do a fantastic job! he continued.

Even as he introduced his new press secretary, President Trump made a point to honor Leavitts service and her decision to prioritize her young family. I just want to pay my respect and thanks to Karoline Leavitt for the fantastic job she has done as White House Press Secretary Could not have been better! the president said on Sunday.

Zacharia, a familiar presence on conservative media, briefly served as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security under former Secretary Kristi Noem before leaving that post earlier this year. Before her latest appointment, she worked as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of President Trumps social media platform, Truth Social, signaling a seamless transition from defending his agenda in the private sector to doing so from the White House podium.
