Claire Valdez Tells Hakeem Jeffries ATrans Bill Of Rights Will Be A Top Priority if She Wins NY-37

Socialist congressional hopeful Claire Valdez has signaled that a sweeping trans bill of rights would be one of her top legislative priorities if she secures a seat in the US House of Representatives.

Her comments came during an appearance on the Hell Gate Podcast with fellow socialist candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier, where she described a recent discussion with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. According to The Post Millennial, the exchange raised fresh questions about how far hard-left candidates are prepared to push identity-based legislation should Democrats regain control of the House.

Co-host Holly Pretsky pressed Valdez on whether foreign policy or ideological litmus tests were part of her talks with Jeffries, asking, We saw the reporting that Hakeem Jeffries has reached out to you guys, and that youve talked with him. Is this something you talked to him about as a condition for, maybe, supporting him as Speaker should Democrats take the House back? Valdez rejected the idea that explicit conditions had been set, but made clear that her agenda is rooted in the activist priorities of the far-left.

Valdez replied, We havent talked about we havent had that kind of conversation, but I, you know, in my conversation recently I want to emphasize how important certain issues were in my district and that were defining parts of my race and that includes the war, it includes the genocide, Medicare for all, trans bill of rights, like there are a lot of things that, you know, I ran on that, I want to deliver for my district and I think its our responsibility to do exactly that so, you know, thats what were working on. Her framing, which casually invokes genocide and places a trans bill of rights alongside Medicare for All, underscores how deeply progressive ideology has penetrated parts of the Democratic base.

On her campaign website, Valdez pledges to fight to enact federal protections and undo federal attacks against queer and trans people, codifying the right to live a full, dignified life. She portrays President Trumps second administration as an antagonist, claiming, Since returning to office, the Trump administration has launched a litany of cruel attacks on transgender people. Claire will fight to reverse every federal action that targets the transgender community and pass The Equality Act, the Transgender Health Care Access Act and a Transgender Bill of Rights to codify permanent protections into law.

The platform goes far beyond basic civil protections and moves into compelled recognition of gender ideology across virtually every sphere of public life. It declares, That means guaranteeing the right to comprehensive, gender affirming medical care; the right to update any and all government documents so they accurately reflect your gender; protecting the right to use bathrooms, locker rooms, and other public facilities that align with your gender; defending the right of trans students and athletes to participate fully in school life, including sports; and ensuring that no federal agency, school, employer, or healthcare provider can use gender identity or sexual orientation as a basis for exclusion or discrimination. Trans and queer people deserve safety, respect, and full participation in public life.

For conservatives, Valdezs agenda highlights the growing divide between traditional views of biological sex and the lefts push to embed gender ideology into federal law, education, sports, and healthcare. Her candidacy thus becomes a test case of whether voters are prepared to endorse a platform that would not only roll back President Trumps policies, but also hardwire radical social experiments into the legal framework governing families, schools, and public institutions nationwide.
