Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, used a Friday appearance on Fox News Channels Hannity to press voters to keep backing Republican efforts to defeat Democrats in Novembers midterm elections.
According to Breitbart, Scott framed the stakes in stark terms, warning that fringe figures within the Democrat ranks are dangerous, radical and weird. Host Sean Hannity questioned whether public surveys were fully reflecting that reality, asking, I dont know if the polling is capturing how extreme these candidates are. Do you believe in your polling its showing up?
Scott responded that internal GOP numbers show highly competitive contests but stressed that Republicans must stay on offense. Our polling shows that we have races that are toss-ups. The one thing we have to do is continue to put lead on the target. Were talking about dangerous, radical and weird candidates all across the map for the Senate Democrats. If we expose their lies and let the American people know exactly who they are, we will win.
He singled out Texas Democrat James Talarico as emblematic of the lefts ideological drift. But from James Talarico, who believes that, frankly, not only is he six gender James, not only does he believe in non-binary God Talarico, he believes that free markets and capitalism is racist. I cant understand where hes coming from. My life was changed because of free markets and capitalism.
Scott then turned to other Democrat hopefuls he portrayed as far outside the mainstream, including Michigans Abdul El-Sayed. The fact of the matter is that when you leave Texas and go to Abdul El-Sayed, who says that football is racist, who says lets abolish ICE, lets defund the police, the prisons not at all, brother, he continued. You got that right. We love our football all of you got theyll kick you out. Listen, this is whats happening across the country. These are wolves in sheep clothes. They want to run to the center, but everything you watch theyve ever said is lunatics talking like lunatics. Even Troy Jackson says in Maine, Id run as a communist if you could. Listen to him.
For Scott, Democrats own rhetoric is the most powerful indictment of their agenda, which he characterizes as openly socialist and even sympathetic to communism. America, believe the words that these Democrats said, these socialists said, frankly, communists said before they were at the ballot box. Weve got to believe them, expose them, and defeat them, Scott added.
He also targeted New Hampshire Democrat Chris Pappas as a reliable vote for bigger government and higher taxes, contrasting that record with the prosperity created by free markets. You think about Chris Pappas. Hes never seen a tax increase in New Hampshire he didnt like. Time and time again, Democrat after Democrat, the most dangerous, radical group of people who want to change America, not love the America that you and I love, Sean.
