MSNBC host Al Sharpton escalated his attacks on President Donald Trump during Fridays broadcast of Deadline on MS NOW, accusing him of displaying real signs of instability."
According to Breitbart, Sharpton argued that many in politics and the media remain irrationally fearful of President Trumps influence, despite his electoral defeat in 2020. Sharpton said, I think that some of these people were so intimidated that they are still feeling that he has his punch, that he doesnt have.
Sharpton went on to portray Trump as a bully whose power is more illusion than reality, insisting Democrats should not be afraid of a candidate they believe they have already beaten. He added, So I think it becomes that everyone becomes afraid of the bully, not understanding the bully really never got into a real fight. And, you know, I tell people all the time that they say, well, I dont know if we can beat Trump. Joe Biden beat Trump. And so why are you afraid of somebody you already beat if youre on the Democratic side?
He further questioned the judgment of those who continue to align with Trump, suggesting they share responsibility for what he described as erratic behavior. Sharpton continued, And why are you afraid of a bully thats coming apart at the seams? If you read this last TIME Magazine interview, he just did. Youve got to wonder if hes losing it. I mean, it doesnt even make sense what hes saying. Yet youre going to cosign that? Well, you need to go down with him then.
Sharpton then claimed that supporting Trump reflects weakness and a refusal to back what he called somebody sane in the Oval Office, asserting that Trumps words and actions lack coherence. If youre that weak that you cant even stand up for somebody sane sitting behind the the the desk in the Oval Office, because theres real signs of instability here, because it doesnt make sense what hes saying or what hes doing. Were in a war he cant get out of. Theres no strategy. Hes saying one thing one day, something else the next day. And you want to be attached to that? Then you need to go down with him, Sharpton concluded, offering a stark illustration of how aggressively some on the left are working to delegitimize President Trump and those who support him.
