Pop singer Lady Gaga has faced backlash from fans after partnering with Pfizers Nurtec ODT migraine treatment.

In an Instagram post, Gaga shared a photo of herself performing onstage with a superimposed graphic of the Nurtec ODT label in the upper right corner. She also shared her experience with migraines, stating that she had been diagnosed at age 14.

Gagas partnership with Pfizer has made her the face of the brand after Khlo Kardashian. In a video ad, Lady Gaga narrates a Nurtec ODT commercial as she performs during her 2022 Chromatica Ball world tour. She highlights the debilitating effects of migraines and how Nurtec ODT can help treat and prevent migraine attacks.

However, Pfizers recall of more than 4.2 million units of the Nurtec 75-milligram tablets on March 16, 2023, due to the packaging not being child-resistant and posing a poison risk, has caused fans to voice their displeasure. Many have accused Gaga of selling out to Big Pharma.

In response to the criticism, Pfizer said that collaborating with Gaga will help raise awareness of this often silent disease and inspire those living with migraine to have conversations with their healthcare providers about the best way to manage their condition.

Lady Gagas partnership with Pfizer has sparked controversy among her fans, with some accusing her of selling out to Big Pharma. Despite the backlash, Pfizer remains committed to raising awareness about migraines and encouraging individuals to speak with their healthcare providers about managing the condition.
