According to Western Journal, William Carter and his wife, Jennifer, were killed in November when their vehicle was jackknifed by a big rig driven by Rajinder Kumar, an illegal immigrant from India, as reported by Fox News. The crash occurred just over two weeks after the couples wedding, according to Williams mother, Jennifer Carter, who also noted that their cat, Bert, died in the wreck.
Testifying before Congress on Wednesday, Carter described the devastating loss in terms that underscored her anger at federal immigration failures. Sixteen days after they were married, Billy, Jenny, and her cat Bert were killed. They lost the Russian roulette game our government is forcing them to play, she told lawmakers.
Carter directly tied her familys loss to the surge of illegal immigration under Democratic leadership, highlighting what she views as a reckless disregard for American lives. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced earlier this year that the administration had finalized a rule blocking certain foreign nationals from obtaining commercial licenses to operate trucks and buses.
For far too long, America has allowed dangerous foreign drivers to abuse our truck licensing systems wreaking havoc on our roadways. This safety loophole ends today, Duffy said, emphasizing that the era of lax oversight is over. Moving forward, unqualified foreign drivers will be unable to get a license to operate an 80,000-pound big rig.
