Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) used a weekend cable appearance to paint President Donald Trumps supporters as fractured and their leader as an incompetent, corrupt cult leader, president.
Speaking on MS NOWs The Assignment, Jayapal claimed there are big splits in the MAGA movement, framing the conservative base as divided and weakened, according to Breitbart. She argued that Its definitely a president trying to hit the panic button because he knows his poll numbers are in the tank. He knows that Americans have seen through the act that he put forward.
Jayapal insisted that any Republican candidate will be forced to grapple with internal tensions on the right, even as President Trump continues to command intense loyalty from millions of voters. There are big splits in the MAGA movement, and I think that any Republican who runs is going to have to contend with those, she said, before asserting, Donald Trump is popular with 30% of the American people. Maybe that popularity with that 30% stays. But even if you look within the Republican party, you are seeing big splits.
She went on to link conservative dissatisfaction to issues ranging from foreign policy to government transparency, while ignoring the Biden administrations own failures on those fronts. People who dont want the war, people who are angry about the fact that the Epstein files still have not been released. I mean, people who are angry about a number of things, Jayapal added, attempting to fold broader public frustration into her critique of the right.
