A Democrat candidate for the North Carolina state legislature is under fire after posting a vacation photo from a German concentration camp memorial with the caption, Visiting Dauchau [sic] Concentration Camp in Germany This is where Trump supporters belong.

The image, taken at the Dachau concentration camp memorial where the site records that 41,500 people were murdered, shows Shelly Headen smiling in front of what appear to be crematorium ovens, facilities the Nazi SS used to burn the bodies of Jews and other prisoners who died or were killed there, according to Breitbart. Six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust, making any casual or partisan invocation of such atrocities especially grotesque in the eyes of many observers.
Headen is challenging incumbent Republican state Rep. John Blust in a suburban Guilford County district, positioning herself as a moderate professional voice. On her Facebook page, Headen describes herself as a CPA and business owner running to restore human decency, a claim critics say is starkly at odds with suggesting political opponents should be consigned to concentration camps while grinning in front of Holocaust ovens.
The rhetoric on display in Headens posts reflects a broader pattern of escalating dehumanization and violent imagery from Democrat candidates and left-wing agitators toward conservatives and supporters of President Trump. Earlier this year, a gunman attempted to breach security, apparently in an effort to assassinate President Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner, underscoring how reckless language can fuel real-world threats.
In another example of the lefts moral inversion, Michigan Muslim socialist candidate Abdul El-Sayed responded to an attack on a Jewish synagogue in his state by remarking, Hurt people hurt people. For many on the right, such equivocal language toward anti-Jewish violence contrasts sharply with the lefts constant accusations that conservatives are the source of political hatred.
Headens apparent call to burn Trump supporters is not her only flirtation with violent rhetoric. In a separate Facebook post, she appears to advocate for an unspecified terrorist attack on American soil, writing, I think our only hope is an attack on US soil preferably Alabama, Louisiana where the stupid people are.
Beyond her online statements, Headen has also faced serious questions about her personal conduct. She has been the subject of domestic assault allegations in which her husband is listed as the potential victim.
Two documents that appear to be law enforcement incident/investigation reports from 2024 list Headen as the suspect in both cases. These reports indicate two separate law enforcement visits, raising further concerns about her fitness for public office.
In a statement on September 3, Headen offered a markedly different account of the domestic incidents, saying, In 2024, during a high-stress time in my marriage, my husband and I had a couple of arguments that escalated. During one argument, my husband grabbed me, and I fell backward and hit my head. In my fear and confusion, I sought support and protection from those I trustedI called 911.
That narrative appears to contradict the police documentation, which records two distinct visits and identifies her as the suspect and her husband as the potential victim in both. Breitbart News has reached out to Headen for comment on her inflammatory social media posts and to clarify the domestic violence allegations, but her campaign had not responded by press time, leaving voters to weigh her record, rhetoric, and credibility as they consider who will represent them in Raleigh during President Trumps second term.
