According to Mediaite, the longtime co-host of The View has entered into an agreement with Fountain 0, making her one of the most prominent media figures yet to sign over her image for AI-driven projects. The deal will allow the company to use her likeness in screen adaptations of her novels, effectively merging her on-air persona with her work as an author.
To be able to bring my novels to life in movie and TV form, and actually have my image inserted in the productions, so that audiences can relate to me through my stories beyond my role as an author, is incredibly exciting to me, Hostin said. This entire generational innovation in filmmaking from Fountain 0 gives me confidence that AI can give me a way to both more fully develop, and more fully immerse myself in, [intellectual property] I have developed.
Hostin further argued that top-quality AI productions cannot only enable writers and directors to have their imaginations unleashed and no longer be tethered to budgetary constraints, but also pioneer a new art form which can open up new dimensions for how public personalities can engage with audiences. Fountain 0 CEO Ash Koosha welcomed the partnership, saying the company is gratified that Hostin is willing to team with them, while conceding it is obviously new territory for major talent personalities.
From Hostins perspective, AI is not merely a technological novelty but a workaround to Hollywoods increasingly risk-averse, ideologically driven studio system. AI companies, she claimed, can create content that traditional studios are avoiding.
I feel particularly strongly that there is a need to bring stories to the big screen that are more in tune with the lives of diverse audiences that Hollywood focuses too little on, and I believe Fountain 0s AI productions can have a major impact on responding to the interests of these underserved audiences, she said. Her novels, including a trilogy of popular titles, are expected to be among the first properties explored for such treatment.
While many artists on the left have led an aggressive backlash against AI, others are quietly embracing the technology as a tool rather than a threat. Sir Michael Caine recently licensed his well-known voice for a new audiobook version of one of his works, and the family of the late actor Val Kilmer, who died in 2025, have licensed his likeness for a significant role in an upcoming film.
Fountain 0 has already drawn attention with a fully AI-generated production that premiered at this years Tribeca Film Festival, signaling that the industry is moving faster than regulators and union activists who want to clamp down on innovation.
