Yet instead of welcoming a privately driven economic and cultural boost to the capital, Schiff chose to sneer at the event and its attendees, casting it as a cynical distraction rather than a celebration of American freedom and enterprise.
On social media, the senator adopted his familiar scolding tone, lamenting that, "While you struggle with the cost of gas, Trump offers you the spectacle of an IndyCar race hoping you will not notice. More taxpayer money spent on his self-aggrandizing distractions. And you get higher taxes and higher costs."
