An anti-ICE activist group in Provo, Utah, is under scrutiny after members in its Discord server were caught praising the phrase Be a hero, shoot Trump, according to screenshots obtained by student outlet TheCougar Chronicle.
According to The Post Millennial, the screenshots from the Discord channel of People of Provo Against ICE (POPAI) show USPS-style postage stamps emblazoned with the slogan Be a hero, shoot Trump, posted by a user identified as Heckybara. Another participant in the chat responded approvingly to the explicit call to shoot Trump, describing the imagery as definitely cool.
A user going by Venna appeared to encourage the distribution of the stamps while offering a half-hearted caveat about explicit threats. Those are definitely cool and you should 100% put them up but if people are gonna make POPAI specific ones try not to make threats. But those are sick af, the user wrote, underscoring the groups casual attitude toward violent rhetoric directed at the President.
The conversation reportedly took place in POPAIs welcome room, the entry point where new recruits are invited to join the organizations anti-ICE activism. POPAI links its Discord server directly from its Instagram account, which boasts more than 500 followers, while the Discord group itself lists 64 members.
Content on POPAIs social media routinely targets Immigration and Customs Enforcement and promotes anti-ICE rallies across Utah, reflecting a broader progressive campaign against immigration enforcement. Multiple Instagram posts are co-branded with the Utah County chapter of Indivisible, a left-wing organization that has been buoyed by millions of dollars in funding tied to leftist billionaire George Soros.
Despite the violent rhetoric tolerated in its online spaces, POPAI publicly portrays itself as a lawful advocacy outfit. The group describes its mission as activists working to stop ICE activity in Provo through any legal means, and advertises weekly meetings, raising questions about how closely its stated commitment to legality aligns with the extremist language circulating among its members.
