According to Sean Hannitys outlet, President Trump announced that his 28-year-old press secretary will step down at the end of August to spend more time with her family, ending a history-making tenure that turned the young mother into one of the administrations most visible defenders. Leavitt, the youngest White House press secretary in American history, welcomed her second child, Viviana, in May and returned from maternity leave only last month.
Trump made clear that Leavitts departure from the West Wing does not signal a break with his movement, saying she will continue as a senior outside adviser while Republicans fight to retain control of Congress. Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections, Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Leavitt, for her part, described the role as the honor and adventure of a lifetime and expressed gratitude to Trump for entrusting her with the job.
Her resignation caps a swift ascent from White House intern to the public face of a conservative administration that has consistently challenged the Washington establishment. Leavitt served in Trumps first administration, then ran unsuccessfully for a New Hampshire House seat in 2022 before rejoining his 2024 campaign as one of his most prominent television surrogates.
That campaign overlapped with a harrowing chapter in both national politics and her personal life. Leavitt gave birth to her first child, Niko, just three days before Trump was shot and nearly assassinated at his July 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and she quickly returned to the trail amid the chaos that followed.
After Trumps victory, Leavitt assumed one of Washingtons most demanding communications posts and broke new ground for working mothers in high office. She became the first sitting White House press secretary to give birth while holding the position, underscoring a conservative vision that champions both family and public service without surrendering to progressive orthodoxies about career and motherhood.
