The Democratic Partys internal struggle over whether to remain a big tent or embrace an uncompromising progressive identity is spilling into public view, with one of the lefts most celebrated activists now openly attacking moderates.
According to Gateway Pundit, David Hogg, long treated by liberal media as a moral authority on gun control, used a CNN appearance to denounce centrist Democrats, declaring that they do not share the right values. Hogg, who rose to prominence after a deranged killer who was on the FBI radar for months murdered 17 people in a demented rage in 2018, is now positioning himself as an arbiter of ideological purity inside the party.
The killer, as even critics of gun control acknowledge, never should have had access to a gun, yet the institutional failures of law enforcement and federal agencies were quickly overshadowed by Hoggs push for sweeping restrictions on law-abiding citizens. Today, that same activist is suddenly the voice of reason in the Democrat Party, and he is making it clear he wants to rid the party of moderates.
Hoggs enthusiasm for hard-left figures such as socialist Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani underscores how far the partys activist base has drifted from traditional liberalism. Only stone-cold communists, Antifa radicals, and wild-eyed socialists are allowed in, the commentary warned, adding with justified alarm, God help us.
As HotAir reported and Gateway Pundit highlighted, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer suffered a major embarrassment in Michigan, where he and the party establishment reportedly spent tens of millions of dollars to help Haley Stevens defeat DSA-aligned Abdul El-Sayed. Stevens nearly succeeded, but El-Sayed and his father-in-laws Muslim Brotherhood money managed to eke out the primary victory, after which Schumer tried to spin the defeat as proof of the Democrats big tent.
That narrative is now openly challenged from the left, as Former DNC vice chair David Hogg told CNNs Kaitlin Collins on Thursday that the tent will get scaled back enough to leave the moderates of the party on the outside looking in. The result is a Democratic Party once again becoming so fringe and so cringe that they will make it impossible to be seen as a sane alternative for Americas future, prompting the stark warning: We have seen the future of the current Democrat Party And it is Soviet Russia.
