An illegal immigrant previously deported twice from the United States has been charged with sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl at a Sacramento daycare, raising fresh questions about border enforcement and Californias sanctuary policies.
According to The Post Millennial, Gokhan Bagci, a Turkish national, was working at the Mather Childcare Center in July 2025 when he allegedly targeted the young girl in his care. The victims mother reported that the illegal immigrant lured her daughter into a closet under the guise of playing hide-and-seek, where he is accused of sexually assaulting the child.
On the same day, Bagci allegedly took the girl into a bathroom and raped her, according to a lawsuit filed by the mother. The conduct of Bagci in sexually molesting and raping a six-year-old child entrusted to his care was extreme and outrageous, exceeding all bounds of decency tolerated in a civilized community, the mothers attorneys stated in the complaint, as cited by the Sacramento Bee.
The civil suit, filed in July 2025, preceded Bagcis arrest in August on suspicion of four felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14. Prosecutors say the case underscores the vulnerability of children in institutions that fail to properly vet employees, particularly in jurisdictions that prioritize shielding illegal immigrants over public safety.
Court filings allege the child was left bruised and endured severe pain, fear, and emotional trauma as a result of the attack. The girl told her mother the following day that she did not want to go to school the next day and asked her mother to make sure Bagci did not hurt her again.
Immigration records show Bagci had been removed from the United States twice by Customs and Border Protection, first in November 2023 and again in September 2024. The lawsuit contends that if the daycare had conducted a thorough background check on Bagci, then the abuse could and would have been prevented.
This criminal illegal alien is accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl at the daycare where he worked, Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. He now faces charges of lewd and lascivious acts with a child. We are calling on Governor Gavin Newsom and his fellow sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this sicko from jail and to cooperate with ICE law enforcement.
Bagci is currently being held in Sacramento County jail on $200,000 bail as the criminal case moves forward. He is scheduled to appear for a hearing on July 31 in Sacramento Superior Court, a proceeding that will likely intensify scrutiny of Californias sanctuary framework and the federal governments failure to keep a twice-deported offender out of the country.
