Biggs coasted to victory in the Republican gubernatorial primary, capturing the nomination in a landslide that underscored his dominance within the partys conservative base. According to Western Journal, citing NBC News figures, Biggs secured more than 73 percent of the vote, a margin that instantly shifted attention from the primary battlefield to Novembers general election showdown.
The roots of that triumph stretch back to May 2025, when Kirks Turning Point Action hosted a high-energy Biggs for Governor rally that doubled as a celebration of the conservative movements momentum after President Donald Trumps 2024 victory. Kirk delivered a 20-minute address on Biggs behalf, casting the Arizona lawmaker as the kind of unapologetic conservative needed to push back against progressive governance at the state level.
Still buoyed by Trumps return to the White House, Kirk told the crowd that swelling attendance at campus events signaled a rising generation ready to carry the America First banner forward. Barely three months after that rally, the conservative movement was shaken when Kirk was assassinated on the campus of Utah State University, a killing that turned the 31-year-old activist into a martyr for many on the right. Tyler Robinson, now 23, stands accused of Kirks murder, a case that continues to reverberate through conservative circles that viewed Kirk as a crucial voice against left-wing dominance in academia and culture.
In the wake of his death, Turning Point Action has treated Kirks endorsement of Biggs as a kind of political testament, continuing to champion the congressman as a model America First conservative. The organization awarded Biggs a 97.36 lifetime score for his fidelity to those principles, a metric that reflects years of votes aligned with limited government, strong borders, and traditional values.
Congressman Biggs is one of only 17 Representatives to have earned the Taxpayers Friend Award, the top award in this category, for their outstanding voting record during the 2018 Congressional session, Turning Point Actions profile of Biggs read. He was also awarded Conservative Excellence, which is the American Conservative Union organizations highest award bestowed to lawmakers who vote to uphold conservative principles.
According to Politico, Biggs, a former chair of the House Freedom Caucus who also secured Trumps endorsement, has already pivoted toward a direct confrontation with Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs in November. The race sets up a stark ideological contrast between a staunch America First conservative and a Democratic incumbent whose tenure has been marked by progressive policies on immigration, elections, and COVID-era governance.
Kirk anticipated that clash in his 2025 rally speech, urging conservatives to unite behind Biggs once the primary was in hand. Biggs has spent recent years cementing his reputation as a loyal Trump ally and a reliable defender of conservative orthodoxy in Washington. In April 2025, he moved to oust Judge James Boasberg from the federal bench after Boasberg unilaterally blocked key elements of Trumps early immigration-enforcement agenda, even arguing that Congress could remove the judge without resorting to formal impeachment.
During President Joe Bidens administration, Biggs remained a vocal proponent of robust border security, repeatedly criticizing the White House for policies he said fueled chaos and lawlessness along the southern frontier. Likewise, he opposed Bidens vaccine mandates during the COVID-19 scare, framing them as an assault on individual liberty and a dangerous expansion of federal power over personal medical decisions.
