A legally armed citizen fatally shot a knife-wielding man who was allegedly terrorizing patrons inside a Cerritos, California, restaurant.
The incident unfolded when the suspect entered Lucilles Smokehouse Bar-B-Que and ran through the kitchen/service areas, a situation that left customers and workers alike visibly shaken, as reported by Breitbart. According to ABC 7, the man was allegedly armed with a knife and causing panic, underscoring once again how quickly ordinary public spaces can turn dangerous when authorities are minutes away and threats are seconds away.
Amid the chaos, one patron, described as lawfully armed and possessed a valid concealed carry permit, confronted the suspect as he moved through the restaurant. When the knife-wielding man allegedly charged the concealed carrier, shots were fired and the man with the knife was killed, a stark reminder of why many Americans insist on their right to carry for self-defense.
NBC Los Angeles noted that the concealed carry permit holder is cooperating fully with law enforcement as the investigation proceeds.
