A left-wing comedian and academic affiliated with George Washington University is facing mounting criticism after boasting online that she delivered a taunting cake to the Capitol Hill office of the late Sen.
Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
According to Breitbart, Elizabeth Booker Houston posted a photograph on social media of a sheet cake decorated with Grahams image and the word Congratudolences! and claimed she had personally dropped it at his Senate office in Washington, DC. In the caption, Houston wrote, I just dropped this cake off at Lindsey Grahams office. Congratudolences, Darline! Your brother is burning in hell, and now, youre working for the devil!
Breitbart News reviewed Houstons LinkedIn profile, which describes her as a political consultant and commentator, a guest lecturer at George Washington University, and an adjunct professor at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She is also promoted as a comedian on the New York Comedy Clubs website, underscoring how deeply progressive activism has seeped into institutions that once claimed to value academic rigor and professional standards.
Grahams office announced that the 71-year-old senator died late Saturday from a brief and sudden illness, according to Breitbart News, prompting a swift transition to ensure South Carolinas representation in the Senate remained intact. Following his death, his sister, Darline Graham Nordone, was sworn in as interim United States senator to complete his term, a solemn constitutional process that stood in stark contrast to Houstons celebratory cruelty.
The late senators term extends through the end of the 119th Congress on January 3, 2027, meaning Graham Nordone will hold the seat during a critical period of President Trumps second administration. During the swearing-in, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) administered the oath, saying, Please raise your right hand, and continued, Do you solemnly swear that you will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that you will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. That you take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that you will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which you are about to enter, so help you God.
I do, Graham Nordone replied, affirming the oath in a brief but poignant moment that highlighted duty and faith amid personal loss. That moment of dignity has now been overshadowed by Houstons online stunt, which many see as emblematic of a broader culture of left-wing intolerance toward political opponents, even in death.
Houston is now facing significant backlash over her claims about delivering the cake, with elected officials and citizens alike calling for consequences. Congressman William Timmons (R-SC) shared screenshots of her post and wrote, Just want to make sure my alma mater saw this disturbing tweet from a Guest Lecturer and that appropriate disciplinary action has been taken.
Timmons also tagged George Washington University and added, Perhaps some mental health counseling as part of her severance. Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) joined the criticism, stating bluntly, IU should fire her immediately. @IndianaUniv.
Other social media users echoed those concerns, pointing to the episode as further proof that the lefts rhetoric about tolerance and compassion often collapses when conservatives are involved. One commenter wrote, Thank you for confirming who is really the party of hate and ignorance, while another observed, Antagonizing the bereaved family members of a just-deceased person is sadistic behavior that no one should engage in.
As universities and cultural institutions continue to employ activists who revel in demeaning conservatives, many on the right are asking whether any meaningful standards of decency remain in higher education and entertainment. The calls for George Washington University and Indiana University to act against Houston reflect a growing demand that those who preach inclusion be held to the same basic moral expectations they so often weaponize against their political opponents.
